BOKWA is the newest dance fitness craze that is taking over the world and the Bay Of Plenty!
If you love to dance, or you'd love to love dance then this is for you.
Bokwa is an innovative exercise class that was inspired by South African dance movements.
It's an easy to follow, effective total body workout, and it uses letters to help you identify the particular dance moves. It was developed by international fitness personality Paul Mavi, a leading Los Angeles based Group Fitness Instructor, and has been in NZ for a number of years.
OK, so why is it called Bokwa?
BOKWA is derived from a combination of two words. “BO” represents the light boxing and ”KWA” representing the cultural and traditional dance Kwaito, hence, BOKWA was born. In each class you will learn structured sequences of steps to the latest music that is topping the charts on the radio. Once you become familiar with the steps you can add in your flair, as there is no "right way" to perform any dance move and it can be very high impact! This makes it a great cardio work out for both males and females.
